Foley Elementary Library
The library at Foley Elementary strives to provide 21st-century learning to equip students with the skills to find information when using both print and digital resources.  Our goal is to create an atmosphere where every student feels welcomed, loved, and supported so they can build a love of reading and lifelong learning.  

 

Student Checkout Information

Kindergarten- 6th grade students are able to check out 2 books during their library class time.  Teachers are also able to request books to use in the classroom, sign their class to come check out books, conduct research, etc.    

Circulation

Students are not charged fines for overdue books.
They are charged fines for damaged books.  These fines include:  

  • Lost Book: Price of the book
  • Cover missing: Price of the book
  • Broken cover: Price of the book
  • Writing on the cover: Price of the book
  • Missing page: Price of the book
  • Writing on pages: $0.10 per page up to the price of the book
  • Torn pages: $0.15 per page up to the price of the book
  • Crayon/Ink blotted pages: $1.00 per page up to the price of the book
  • Food/Drink spills: $1.00 per page up to the price of the book
  • Any lost or damaged book must be paid for by either cash or check.  Checks are made payable to Foley Elementary School.
  • At no time will a student be charged more than the cost of replacing the book at the original price.
  • If a student pays for a book and then finds it within the same school year, the book needs to be returned to the library and the student will receive a refund through the school bookkeeper. We would much rather have a library book than have money!
